The excitement of attending a sports game can often be dampened by the steep prices of food and drinks at the stadium. In fact, some items can be so overpriced that they leave fans feeling like they’ve been robbed. Here are some of the most overpriced foods for sale at sports stadiums.

Hot Dogs

Hot dogs are a staple at most sports stadiums, but the price can be quite ridiculous. It's not uncommon to see them priced at $7 or more, and that’s just for a basic hot dog with no toppings. Add in some chili and cheese, and you can easily be looking at a $12 meal.

Beer

Beer is another staple at sports games, but the price can be staggering. A beer at a stadium can cost upwards of $10, and some stadiums even charge more than that. And if you're looking for something a little stronger, you could end up paying even more.

Nachos

Nachos are a great snack to enjoy while watching a game, but the prices at stadiums can be outrageous. For a small tray of nachos, you could be looking at a $10 price tag. Add in some extra cheese or meat, and that price could easily jump up to $15 or more.

Popcorn

Popcorn is a cheap snack that's usually a hit with moviegoers, but it's not so cheap at sports stadiums. A small bag of popcorn can cost $8 or more, and a large bag can cost over $12. That’s quite a lot to pay for a snack that you can get for a few dollars at the movie theater.

Pretzels

Pretzels are another popular snack at sports stadiums, but they are often overpriced. A basic salted pretzel can cost upwards of $6, and if you want any dipping sauces or toppings, you could be looking at a $10 pretzel.

While it's understandable that stadiums need to make a profit, the high prices of these basic foods can leave fans feeling ripped off. It’s a shame that attending a sports game has become such an expensive affair, and it's something that needs to change. Until then, fans may want to consider eating before the game or bringing their own snacks to avoid paying these ridiculous prices.
