The Green Bay Packers were officially admitted into the then-nascent APFA (which evolved into the NFL), as the Acme Packing Company of Green Bay was granted the franchise pigskindispatch.com.


On the same day, the Evansville Crimson-Giants and Tonawanda Kardex Lumbermen joined the league. Notoriously, the Tonawanda team played only one game, making them the shortest-lived franchise in NFL history
